The upcoming Conference on "Strong Women for a stronger Adriatic-Ionian Region", which will take place in Zagreb on July 4-5, aims to celebrate the diversity and strength of the Adriatic-Ionian region by showcasing remarkable individuals who play a vital role in its growth and prosperity. The organizers firmly believe that by emphasizing the achievements of strong women in particular, they can pave the way for a more robust and empowered Adriatic-Ionian region.

The Sarajevo Declaration has been adopted on the 24 of May 2023 by the high-level political representatives of the AII/EUSAIR participating countries following the 8th Adriatic Ionian Council / EUSAIR Ministerial meeting.

The 8th EUSAIR FORUM hosted by Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Presidency of Strategy will be organized from 23 to 25 May by the Directorate for European Integration of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in close cooperation with the European Commission and with the support by the EUSAIR Facility Point.
The main topic of this year’s EUSAIR forum is how to fight ‘brain drain’ in the context of EU enlargement. Several events organized by youth organisations, central event on sustainable rural development, central event on possible introduction of social pillar in the EUSAIR, as well as other gatherings around innovation and circular economy will explore the possibilities for improving the situation.

The AII Permanent Secretariat is proud to announce the winners of the 2022 edition of the Call for Ideas and Award Competition “IMAGINE” Active Young Citizens for Sustainable Development in Central European Initiative (CEI) and Adriatic Ionian Initiative (AII) Areas (deadline: 28 February 2023).

The meeting “Mid-term Evaluation of the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in AII member states”, organized within the framework of the AII/EUSAIR Chairmanship of Bosnia and Herzegovina took place in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 4-5 May 2023.
